On 09/06/2019, the accreditation community has celebrated the World Accreditation Day (WAD), this year’s theme focused on how accreditation provides added value to supply chains. This event is being celebrated every year on 09 June as a global initiative, jointly established by the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC), to raise awareness of the importance of accreditation to all stakeholders.
Supply chains provide a vital role in delivering products and services for consumers, business and the public sector in a timely, cost-efficient and quality manner. Additionally, in an increasingly globalized world, getting products and services across boarders involves demonstrating conformity to local or international standards or regulations, which is why conformity assessment activities such as testing and certification are linked. They prove that products and services are actually what they claim to be. Accreditation offers an independent assessment of the organizations that perform testing, inspection and certification, to demonstrate they are impartial, competent and consistent. Accreditation and, with it, other quality infrastructure tools such as standards, metrology and conformity assessment, provide widely accepted tools that help deliver value to the supply chain. These tools help with trust and assurance, enabling confidence in both final products and services and the manner in which they are placed on the market and used.

This year’s WAD event followed my celebration on 16/04/2019 that signified my 25th Work Anniversary in the field of accreditation, the occasion that caused a turning point in my professional life. Since reaching to that level of experience and knowledge in standardization, conformity assessment and accreditation made me take the opportunity to establish my own small business “LMQ Management System Solutions FZ LLC” in UAE. The key mission of my new business is to offer a comprehensive solution to conformity assessment and accreditation bodies for establishing or developing their management systems in line with International Standards and build up capacity of their personnel
