Course Title: |
Understanding the Requirements of the New Standard ISO 15189
|
Course Objectives: |
This course will enable participants to understand the requirements of
the new ISO 15189 standard relating to the competence and quality of
Medical Laboratories, with a focus on the new changes and how to
apply them within the laboratory management system.
|
Target Group: |
Personnel of Accreditation Bodies and Medical Laboratories. It is not
suitable for individuals without experience and knowledge of the
previous requirements within ISO 15189:2012.

• This course provides basic knowledge to people who need to
understand the accreditation requirements for medical
laboratories based on the new changes in the standard.

• It highlights the special approach to develop management
systems in medical laboratories according to the international
standard ISO 15189: 2022.

• The course is designed to comply with international best
practices for organizing and managing training courses.

Course Structure:
|

1. Pre-course exercise, with a mandatory requirement for
completion of a 2-hour online pre-course module by no later
than 1 week before the onsite trainer-led training
-
2. Onsite Trainer-led training
-
3. Post-course follow-up online meeting, which is not mandatory
but is recommended, as it provides the participants with the
opportunity to further expand on other requirements not
covered in detail during the trainer-led session.

• The onsite trainer-led course is interactive and requires class
participation both as individuals and in teams. Consists of
exercises, case studies, syndicate work, presentations, and
practical training, as well as “Final Examination”.

• The Post-course follow up online meeting will be in a form of
“Questions and Answers” session that will last for 2 hours, the
date of which will be agreed upon during the trainer-led course.

Minimum Requirements:
|
• Participants will be required to complete a pre-course exercise
as explained above, if the pre-course submission of the
exercise is not completed at least one week in advance of the
course start date, the participant will not be permitted to access
the trainer-led session.
|
• Participants will need access to both the ISO 15189:2012 and
15189:2022 standards, either electronic or hard copy.
Standards can be purchased from JSMO or ISO.
|
• Payment of registration fees, as indicated below, prior to the
course.

• Any additional requirements will be detailed in the joining
instructions sent after a registration has been confirmed.
